All In for Mission Success: Spotlighting Artemis and SARSAT Teams

As Entarian continues to advance its mission across some of the nation’s most critical programs, our teams are delivering meaningful impact in ways that reach from deep space exploration to life‑saving operations here on Earth. Through technical excellence, operational reliability, and a shared commitment to national service, our people are driving progress on programs that shape the future—whether enabling NASA’s return to the Moon or supporting NOAA’s global search and rescue capabilities. This work reflects not only what we do, but who we are: a unified team dedicated to excellence, resilience, and purpose.

Spotlighting the Artemis Team

Through a services contract with Boeing, Entarian contributes to the success of NASA’s Artemis Program by playing a key role in the Space Launch System, the rocket designed to return astronauts to the Moon. Our teams support engineering for rocket system design, provide support for building the Core Stage, and assist with final integration of major components. This work reinforces our long-standing role in advancing national space priorities.

Across three NASA facilities, the Artemis Team delivers a broad range of engineering, technical, and operational support—from specialized testing and advanced modeling to safety, training, and precision production activities. A large portion of the team is dedicated to training the next generation of technicians and engineers, ensuring they are fully certified and equipped to support complex rocket production. Other groups contribute expertise in thermal protection systems, electrical and sensor systems, modeling and visualization, materials and processes validation, precision equipment movement, and laser-based alignment and projection work. This diverse capability set enables the high-precision, high-reliability operations required for human-rated spaceflight.

Reflecting on this breadth of work, Dr. Greg Dobson, Project Manager at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility, notes:

“Our people are embedded across Marshall, Michoud, and Kennedy, supporting everything from early rocket design and procedure development to hands‑on production of the Core Stage. At Michoud, we’re directly involved in building the hardware, while our teams at Kennedy support the final integration and stacking of the Core Stage and other components into the launch vehicle. It’s a diverse set of skills working together to bring Artemis missions to life.”

Highlighting the SARSAT Project

Entarian also supports NOAA’s Search and Rescue Satellite-Aided Tracking (SARSAT) Program by operating the United States Mission Control Center (USMCC) in Suitland, Maryland. The SARSAT system detects distress signals from emergency locator beacons used by aviators, marines, and outdoor adventurers, routing that information through satellites and ground stations to the appropriate search and rescue authorities—the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Air Force.

The Entarian team runs this mission around the clock, maintaining a 24/7/365 operation that processes and distributes millions of alerts each year. They manage near‑global coverage, ensuring that distress signals are accurately identified, validated, and forwarded to rescue coordination centers with the speed and precision needed to save lives. This includes sustaining more than 700,000 lines of mission‑critical software, supporting real‑time communication with national and international rescue agencies, and maintaining a secure, high‑impact cybersecurity posture that has earned the team recognition as a gold star performer.

In addition to operations, the team also maintains the registration database for more than 900,000 emergency beacons and supports beacon owners through a dedicated call center. This ensures emergency contacts and location data are accurate—an essential step in enabling SAR responders to reach people in distress as quickly as possible.

As Lisa Hessler explains, every part of this system contributes directly to life‑saving outcomes:

“We take in an enormous volume of data, refine it through specialized algorithms, and deliver the best possible information to rescue coordination centers. From software maintenance and cybersecurity to beacon registration and alert distribution, every piece of what we do is focused on getting help to people who need it—fast.”

Building the Future Together

Entarian’s project achievements strengthen our competitive position while also highlighting the continued unity and resilience of our organization. Whether we are supporting the next chapter of human space exploration or enabling life-saving search and rescue operations, our teams continue to demonstrate what is possible when expertise and collaboration come together with purpose.

As we move into the second half of the year, we bring forward strong momentum and a shared sense of direction. Entarian is advancing with confidence, driven by the talent of our people and guided by a commitment to excellence. The future ahead is full of opportunity, and we will continue building it together, we’re All In.
